Created by Lad Bible creator Ryan DeMille, the robot emoji have become a favorite among bot creators.
DeMalle says the robots are designed to be as friendly as possible, but also not too friendly.
DeLaurier says robots can be more like humans in a way.
“The human brain is more like a dog, it’s more aggressive, and it will run and jump and fight and fight you if it thinks you’re trying to hurt it, so you don’t want to mess with that.”
DeLauriers bot is now available for download, with the goal of making it more than just a toy.
“I really wanted to make it a fun robot that you could have around,” DeLauriier says.
“And that’s when I thought, ‘what if I made a robot that has personality?'”
DeLauriiers bot includes facial expressions, a personality, a name and an icon.
The bot is designed to mimic human personalities, and DeLamaris hopes it will be a great tool for the kids and adults alike.
“When you think about it, we are living in a world that’s changing rapidly, and there’s a lot of people who are trying to make robots that can do a lot more with less, and I think there’s something really good about the idea of, ‘why not build a robot with personality?'”
